About Us
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
Welcome to our website, where you're joining us on an exciting new journey. As a specialist Islamic and independent secondary educational institute, we are dedicated to producing individuals who are “spiritually enhanced and educationally advanced.” This commitment keeps us at the forefront of educational excellence, fostering exemplary individuals who are poised to contribute positively to society.
Our mission is to provide a fully enriched education that nurtures each student’s unique gifts and talents. Rooted in Islamic faith, our education system strengthens our role within the heart of the Bolton Muslim community. We place learning and faith at the centre of all we do, focusing on our pupils as young Muslims and future leaders of the Muslim community in Britain. While we strive for high academic standards, we also emphasise the importance of broader learning skills, good character, and strong Islamic values as essential tools for life beyond school.
Our Governors, Trustees, staff, and project teams work tirelessly to maintain a safe, attractive, modern, and secure environment that stimulates and motivates both pupils and staff to achieve their best. The true quality of our institution is reflected not just in our facilities or online presence but in our ethos and the development of our students from young children to future leaders.
We value and honour our triangular relationship between students, teachers, and parents, fostering real partnerships that celebrate high aspirations with no limits. Our institution is renowned for both spiritual excellence and genuine development, staying true to the aims of Islamic education and helping students embrace their true selves. This foundation enables us to face the future with confidence and meet educational challenges head-on.
Our mission is clear: ‘To promote a culture of educational excellence within a caring and secure Islamic environment, enriched with the values of discipline, mutual care, and respect, extending beyond the school into the wider community.’ This mission shapes everything we do, driving our efforts to deliver outstanding education to our pupils during their formative years.
By focusing on faith, educational excellence, character development, and community service, we aim to deliver a transformational experience. Our students emerge with a sense of aspiration and the highest expectations for themselves, coupled with a commitment to contributing to society’s well-being.
This noble effort calls on each of us to make sacrifices for the success of others. It requires us to work together as professionals and co-learners, to learn from our mistakes, capitalise on our strengths, address our weaknesses, support and challenge each other, and inspire innovation and risk-taking.
We invite you to explore our prospectus and website to gain a sense of who we are and encourage you to visit our Darul Uloom in person.
Salams

History of Al Jamiah
- With the effort and concern of a dedicated group of Muslims in the North-West, a property in the area of Bromley Cross was purchased in 1992 for the propagation of Islamic Education.
- In June 1993 Al Jamiatul Islamiyah opened its doors to the general Muslim population. Initially four students enrolled as full-time residents.
- Over the years with the ever-increasing influx of students at the institute, Darul Uloom soon outgrew its premises and in the summer of 2005, a new site was purchased in the Deane area approximately 7 miles away from the Bromley Cross.
- After a year of renovation on the new site, the building gained its approval from relevant inspectoral parties in April 2006.
- In May 2006, Darul Uloom completed its full transfer to the new site.
- As the standards of Darul Uloom rapidly progressed, so did its reputation and demand. As a result, a neighbouring building formerly serving as a public house was purchased and renovated in 2008 to accommodate this demand.
- Alhamdulillah, by the Grace of the Almighty and the Du’as of our well-wishers, Darul Uloom still continues to thrive today, striving to provide the highest level of Education and nurturing to our students.
